AI Sansad | Technical MUN on AI & Innovation
About the Opportunity
OverviewWhere Algorithms Become Arguments and Code Builds ConsensusAbout the EventAI Sansad is a two-day flagship technical competition organized by the Department of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Bharati Vidyapeeth's College of Engineering, Delhi. The event uniquely combines hands-on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning innovation with structured parliamentary debate, technical argumentation, and real-time decision-making.Participants will work in teams to develop AI/ML-based solutions, demonstrate their technical capabilities, and defend their approaches through structured discussions, questioning, rebuttals, and negotiation.Unlike traditional hackathons, AI संसद challenges participants not only to build a solution but also to justify their technical decisions, critically evaluate competing ideas, and work toward collective consensus.Event DetailsEvent Dates: 3–4 November 2026Venue: Bharati Vidyapeeth's College of Engineering, DelhiEvent Mode: Hybrid (Online Preliminary Round + Offline Competition)Team Size: 3–4 ParticipantsOffline Event Timings: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM ISTOrganizing Department: Department of Artificial Intelligence & Machine LearningCompetition StructureThe event consists of three competitive rounds, beginning with an online qualification stage followed by two offline stages.Round 1: Online Abstract & Solution SubmissionThe competition begins with an online preliminary round in which registered teams will be randomly assigned an AI/ML-based problem statement. The problem statements are organized under a unified framework:1 Super Domain10 Sub-Domains4 Problem Statements per Sub-Domain40 Problem Statements in TotalEach team must submit a hackathon-style presentation containing:Problem StatementAbstract & Proposed SolutionTechnical ApproachExpected ImplementationImpact & FeasibilitySelection: 40 teams will be shortlisted for the offline stage, with one team selected per problem statement.Round 2: AI/ML Model ChallengeDate: 3 November 2026Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM ISTMode: OfflineThe 40 shortlisted teams will participate in a hands-on AI/ML model development challenge.Teams will work with the same dataset and comparable problem context within their respective sub-domains, providing a consistent basis for technical evaluation. The round includes:Opening CeremonyAI/ML Model DevelopmentLive Model DemonstrationTechnical PresentationQuestion & Answer SessionJury EvaluationEvaluation Criteria:Model Accuracy & Efficiency — 50%Technical Knowledge — 25%Presentation & Communication — 25%A panel of four judges will evaluate the participants.Selection: 10 teams will advance to the parliamentary debate, with one finalist selected from each sub-domain.Round 3: AI संसद Parliamentary DebateDate: 4 November 2026Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM ISTMode: OfflineThe top 10 teams will participate in a structured parliamentary debate, representing their respective AI/ML sub-domains under the unified super-domain theme.Participants will defend the technical solutions developed during Day 1 through logical argumentation, technical questioning, rebuttals, and real-time negotiation.Unlike conventional Model United Nations conferences, no country or stakeholder roles will be assigned. Instead, teams will engage directly in technical discussions, challenge competing perspectives, and defend their proposed solutions.Participants may reference their Day 1 models as supporting resources during the debate.Through successive deliberations, teams will evaluate technical approaches, challenge assumptions, respond to opposing arguments, and work collaboratively toward a joint resolution.Skills Evaluated:Critical ThinkingTechnical ReasoningLogical ArgumentationEffective CommunicationAdaptabilityNegotiationReal-Time Decision-MakingConsensus-BuildingThe round concludes with the final deliberations, evaluations, and recognition of outstanding performances.Participation GuidelinesParticipation is team-based, with 3–4 members per team.Teams must register through Unstop within the registration window.Participants must complete the online abstract and solution submission to be considered for shortlisting.Shortlisted teams must attend the offline AI/ML Model Challenge on 3 November 2026.Only the top-performing team from each sub-domain will advance to the parliamentary debate on 4 November 2026.Participants must demonstrate technical understanding and be prepared to defend their proposed AI/ML solutions.Delegates must follow the structured speaking and deliberation procedures communicated by the organizing committee.Participants are expected to maintain professionalism and respect opposing viewpoints throughout the competition.Rules and RegulationsTeams must consist of a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 4 participants. All submissions must address the assigned AI/ML problem statement. The preliminary presentation must include all five required submission components.Teams must adhere to the competition schedule and instructions provided by the organizers.During the offline model challenge, participants must follow the dataset and technical guidelines communicated for their respective sub-domains.Participants must be prepared for technical questioning and jury evaluation.Finalist teams must engage in constructive argumentation, rebuttals, and negotiation during parliamentary deliberations.Plagiarism, misrepresentation, or other unfair practices may lead to disqualification. The decisions of the judges and organizing committee will be final.Awards & RecognitionBest Model: Recognizing top-performing AI/ML solutions from the model challenge. The proposal provides for 2–3 awardees, subject to the approved budget.Best Delegate / Team: Recognizing outstanding technical reasoning, debate performance, persuasion, and consensus-building.High Commendation: Recognizing exceptional argumentation, adaptability, and engagement throughout the competition. Why Participate?AI संसद offers participants an opportunity to:Apply AI/ML knowledge to practical technical challenges.Develop and demonstrate innovative machine learning models.Improve communication and presentation skills.Gain experience in technical argumentation and structured debate.Strengthen teamwork, leadership, negotiation, and critical thinking.Experience a unique competition that connects technological innovation with parliamentary-style decision-making.Build the Model. Defend the Logic. Shape the Consensus.Join AI संसद and take your innovation beyond coding into the arena of ideas, arguments, and collaborative decision-making!
