About the Opportunity

OverviewHackBattle is a dynamic 36-hour hackathon that brings together innovators, creators, and problem-solvers to code, collaborate, and compete. This intensive overnight coding marathon challenges participants to transform ideas into working solutions, tackle real-world problems, and build impactful projects that showcase their creativity and technical skills.Alongside the competition, participants will have the opportunity to attend insightful sessions led by industry experts, gaining practical knowledge, valuable perspectives, and opportunities to connect with professionals.More than just a hackathon, HackBattle is a celebration of innovation, teamwork, creativity, and the relentless spirit of technology.GuidelinesTeam FormationEach team must consist of 2–5 members.Solo participation is not permitted.Teams must complete the official registration process before the event begins.Participants from any academic background or discipline are welcome to participate.Project DevelopmentAll coding, development, and implementation must be carried out within the 36-hour hackathon window.Pre-built projects, previously developed solutions, and existing codebases are strictly prohibited.Open-source libraries, frameworks, APIs, and development tools may be used, provided appropriate attribution is given.Projects must address the problem statements or themes announced at the beginning of the hackathon.Both software and hardware-based projects are permitted.Hardware components and devices will not be provided by the organizers. Teams opting for hardware-based projects must arrange their own components and equipment.Code of ConductPlagiarism, copying, or unauthorized use of another team's code or project will result in immediate disqualification.All participants are expected to maintain respectful and professional conduct throughout the event.Participants must comply with the VIT Code of Conduct.All venue guidelines regarding safety, cleanliness, discipline, and responsible use of facilities must be followed.Logistics & ParticipationAll participants must carry a valid VIT/student ID or other applicable identification.Teams are responsible for bringing their own laptops, hardware components, peripherals, and other required accessories.Internet connectivity and basic infrastructure will be provided for the on-site event.Participants are expected to remain within the designated event venue throughout the hackathon unless prior permission is obtained from the organizers.Submissions & DeadlinesEach team must submit the link to its GitHub repository at the beginning of the hackathon.All development work must be committed to the same repository throughout the event. Creating or submitting a new repository after the hackathon begins will not be permitted.Submissions received after the specified deadline will not be accepted.The final submission must include:Complete source code in the designated GitHub repository.A README/documentation file explaining the project, implementation, and relevant details.General RulesAny violation of the event rules or guidelines may result in disqualification.The organizers reserve the right to modify the rules, schedule, or guidelines if required.
