It is a two-stage building experience focused on turning ideas into practical software solutions.Throughout the hackathon, participants will develop skills across:Software DevelopmentProduct ThinkingProject ManagementSoftware Development Life Cycle (SDLC)Problem SolvingTeamwork & CollaborationInnovation & ExecutionHackathon FormatHorizon consists of two competitive rounds.Round 1 — Online MVP ChallengeParticipants will build and submit a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) based on the given theme.Theme: AI with EducationProblem Statement:Teams can explore ideas across areas such as:EducationProductivityAccessibilityCommunicationLocal ServicesSustainabilityStudent LifeThere are no restrictions on your technology stack or development tools. Teams are encouraged to use the technologies they are most comfortable with, including AI tools.Submission RequirementsYour submission should include:Project descriptionWorking MVP2–3 minute demo videoGitHub repositoryLive demo, if availableProjects will be evaluated based on factors such as:InnovationCore functionalityFeasibilityProblem understandingExecutionShortlistingThe Top 50 teams from Round 1 will be shortlisted for the offline round.However, only the first 30 shortlisted teams to confirm their participation will secure their Round 2 spot.Round 2 — In-Person Delhi HackathonThe shortlisted teams will come together in New Delhi for an intensive 24-hour offline development challenge.This is where Horizon gets serious.Teams will receive a new problem statement/challenge in person at the venue and will be required to build, adapt, or extend their solution within the given timeframe.The round will test:Speed of executionTechnical abilityProduct thinkingCreativityTeam coordinationProblem solvingScalabilityThe exact venue and detailed instructions will be shared with selected participants.Who Can Participate?Horizon is open to students and young builders interested in software development and innovation.Team participationTeams must register through the official Horizon portalBeginners are welcomeParticipants can use any suitable technology stackAI-assisted development is allowedProjects must be originalWhat You GetHorizon isn't just about winning a prize.
