VinHack – 36-Hour Innovation HackathonBuild. Innovate. Disrupt.VinHack is a 36-hour innovation hackathon that brings together developers, designers, and problem-solvers to transform ideas into impactful, working solutions. Participants will identify real-world problems, develop innovative solutions, and build functional prototypes using modern technologies and open-source tools.With the freedom to explore technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, AR/VR, Gaming, IoT, Cloud Computing, and more, VinHack provides a platform to experiment, collaborate, and create solutions that push the boundaries of technology.Whether you're building an intelligent system, an immersive experience, a decentralized application, an autonomous solution, or a technology-driven approach to sustainability, VinHack gives you the opportunity to turn your idea into reality.What to ExpectA 36-hour continuous hackathon focused on innovation and problem-solvingMultiple technology tracks and themes to exploreOpportunities to work with AI models, blockchain, VR/AR, gaming engines, IoT ecosystems, and cloud-native technologiesGuidance and feedback from mentors and industry/technical expertsMultiple review stages to track project developmentA final opportunity to pitch and demonstrate your working prototypeA competitive environment that encourages creativity, experimentation, and technical excellenceHackathon JourneyReview 0 – Team & Problem SelectionTeams will finalize their team name and select a problem statement. They will submit the product title, brief description, Figma link, and GitHub repository, following the official submission template.Ideation RoundTeams will present their initial concept, proposed approach, and implementation strategy for the selected problem statement.Review 1 – Development ProgressTeams will showcase their technology stack and approximately 30–40% of their implementation progress. Teams with insufficient or no meaningful progress may be eliminated.Review 2 – Advanced DevelopmentTeams will demonstrate approximately 80–90% project completion. Mentors and board members will evaluate the progress, technical implementation, and readiness of the solution. This will be an elimination round, with selected teams advancing to the final presentation.Final PresentationFinalists will present their working prototype/demo, supported by a pitch deck, GitHub repository, and relevant design assets. The judging panel will evaluate the projects based on the overall quality, innovation, implementation, impact, and presentation.Evaluation CriteriaProjects will be evaluated on:Novelty & Innovation – Originality, creativity, and uniqueness of the proposed solutionFeasibility & Impact – Practicality and potential for meaningful real-world impactTechnical Implementation – Depth, functionality, completeness, and technical executionDesign & User Experience – Interface quality, usability, accessibility, and overall user experienceUse of Open-Source Tools – Effective and innovative use of open-source technologies, libraries, and frameworksPitching & Communication – Clarity, structure, demonstration quality, and effectiveness of the final presentationEligibilityOpen to B.Tech students of all years and branchesCross-college teams are permittedCross-year teams are permittedSolo participation is not allowedEach team must consist of 4 membersA participant cannot be part of more than one teamProject Development GuidelinesAll project development must be carried out during the hackathonPre-built projects are not permittedParticipants may use any suitable technology stackOnly open-source tools, libraries, and frameworks may be used, with appropriate creditsProjects must align with at least one of the designated tracks/themesTeams must complete all reviews within the specified timelines; no extensions will be providedSubmission RequirementsTeams must submit:A working prototype/demoPitch deck or project documentationGitHub repository containing the source codeFigma/design assets, wherever applicableOther materials specified during the respective review roundsLate submissions will not be accepted.Originality & Code of ConductOriginality is a core requirement of VinHack. Plagiarism, duplicate submissions, or substantial reuse of existing projects may result in disqualification.All participants are expected to maintain respectful and professional conduct towards fellow participants, mentors, judges, and organizers.
